A Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Business Forum was held in Tashkent, bringing together representatives of government institutions and the business communities of the two countries.
During the forum, participants discussed opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation, attract investment, establish joint production facilities, and develop industrial cooperation. Particular attention was paid to new joint projects in industry, energy, logistics, and the agro-industrial sector.
As part of the event, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the supply of products for high-voltage power transmission lines. The document is aimed at further developing industrial cooperation between enterprises of the two countries and expanding bilateral business ties.
The Head of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have all the necessary conditions to move to a new stage of economic interaction based on joint investment, the creation of modern production chains, and the development of high-tech industries.
Trade and economic relations between the two countries continue to demonstrate steady positive growth. At the end of 2025, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan increased by 16.2% to reach USD 4.8 billion. Kazakhstan’s exports increased by 24.6% to USD 3.52 billion.
The positive trend has continued in 2026. During the first five months of this year, bilateral trade reached USD 2.3 billion, an increase of 37.2% compared with the same period in 2025. Today, Uzbekistan accounts for more than 55% of Kazakhstan’s trade with Central Asian countries. This demonstrates the high degree of complementarity between the two economies and the significant potential for further growth in bilateral cooperation.
