Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region plans to expand cooperation with Turkish businesspeople in the fields of ceramics, handicrafts and tourism. Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting with Hüsamettin Sabri, head of the Turkish company "Kası Cini Seramik", and Yasin Çelik, head of "Yasin Çelik Collection".

New areas of cooperation

During the meeting, the parties discussed further development of business ties between the Fergana Region and Turkish entrepreneurs, as well as the implementation of mutually beneficial and promising projects. Hüsamettin Sabri expressed his deep respect and affection for Uzbekistan, the homeland of his ancestors. He noted his desire to contribute to the country’s development and presented a number of projects and initiatives that could be implemented in the Fergana Region.

A modern approach to Rishtan ceramics

One of the key areas discussed was combining the rich traditions of the Rishtan school of ceramics with modern Turkish design solutions and technologies. In particular, the parties considered the possibility of establishing a school of craftsmanship and a gallery in the field of ceramics, developing cooperation with local artisans, and implementing new projects in the tourism sector.

Support from the regional administration

Khayrullo Bozorov supported the proposed initiatives and stated that the regional administration was ready to provide the necessary practical assistance in exploring existing opportunities and implementing promising projects. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work out the proposals in detail together with the relevant officials and to examine the organizational and practical aspects of implementing the projects.

Turkish delegation visits Rishtan

As part of the visit programme, the Turkish business representatives visited Rishtan District. They familiarized themselves with the activities of local ceramic artisans, the traditions of the Rishtan school of ceramics, and the works produced by local craftsmen. The visit enabled the delegation to gain first-hand insight into the distinctive features of local ceramic art and the potential for further cooperation in this field.
