Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan intend to strengthen cooperation between their national IT ecosystems and develop joint projects aimed at international markets. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador, Yerali Tugzhanov.
The meeting focused on developing cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan’s Astana Hub. The parties emphasized the importance of sharing experience, pooling resources, and implementing mutually beneficial projects rather than competing with each other.
In this context, they discussed supporting startups and IT companies, facilitating access to each other’s markets, and implementing joint initiatives. The establishment of favorable conditions for promoting technological solutions in international markets was also on the agenda.
The parties noted that this cooperation would strengthen Central Asia’s technological capacity. Other priorities included raising the international profile of regional technology companies, attracting foreign investors, and developing a common regional IT brand. Shermatov and Tugzhanov also explored opportunities for cooperation in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, data centers, and innovation projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen ties between IT Park Uzbekistan and Astana Hub and expand joint initiatives. These efforts are expected to contribute to Central Asia’s emergence as a regional hub for technology, investment, and innovation.
