The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway should start in December this year. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his Kyrgyz colleague Sadyr Zhaparov discussed this project during their telephone conversation.
The Uzbek leader also makes birthday wishes to the Kyrgyz president on his birthday. The two leaders discussed topical issues of further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and comprehensive strategic partnership. Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements at the highest level.
The heads of state noted with satisfaction the growing dynamics in the development of bilateral trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation. Since the beginning of 2024, the trade turnover has exceeded $700 mln.
It was planned to start the railway construction from China to Kyrgyzstan at the end of October this year. Uzbekistan’s share of this project totals $225 mln.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Zhaparov invited Korean companies to join the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
