On January 17 of this year, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Otabek Fazilkarimov held a meeting with health officials of the Sakarya region of Turkey. At the meeting, issues of reforming the healthcare system, improving its financing and exchanging experience in digitalization were discussed.
The Turkish side presented its experience in the digitalization of the healthcare sector, the health insurance system, the codification of the list of medical services, the supply of medicines and their control. In particular, effective mechanisms for improving financial management in the healthcare sector, online monitoring of drug needs, and further development of the health insurance system were considered.
The Uzbekistan side supported the initiative to study the experience of Turkiye and apply it in the process of financing and improving the management of the healthcare system in our country. In particular, an exchange of views took place on the rational use of funds allocated to the healthcare sector to improve the quality of medical services.
Also, during the negotiations, attention was paid to the importance of online monitoring of data in hospitals, forecasting and monitoring the need for medicines, and accelerating digitalization to ensure data exchange. This approach allows for the optimization of system management and increases the efficiency of allocated funds.
Following the talks, the parties reached an agreement on the implementation of joint initiatives in the field of healthcare and the development of systemic cooperation in this area. This cooperation will contribute to improving the quality of services provided to the population by improving the financing mechanisms of the system.
