President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced goals for further development of the tourism industry during the meeting. In 2025, the republic intends to receive 15 million foreign tourists and increase exports of tourist services to $4 billion.

In 2024, Uzbekistan welcomed more than 10 million tourists and tourism exports totaled $3.5 billion. Despite these achievements, the authorities believe that the sector has significant potential for further growth.

The tourism development program plans to promote 36 regions of the country specializing in various types of tourism, including ethno, gastronomic, medical, extreme, cultural-historical and agro-tourism. A unified tourism platform is also being developed to provide access to ticketing, visa applications and information on attractions.

To stimulate domestic tourism, it is planned to introduce “family travel days” - one weekend a month designed to organize family trips.

In addition, Uzbekistan continues to attract international investment in tourism. In the first quarter of 2025, agreements worth $39 billion were signed, and the industry as a whole is expected to attract $42 billion in 2025.
