Leading think tanks from member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) gathered in Tashkent to discuss strategies for increasing mutual trade volume. Representatives from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and observer member Hungary participated in the meeting.

Participants comprehensively examined ways to deepen regional cooperation. According to 2023 data, although the total foreign trade volume of OTS member countries reached $850 billion, only 7 percent of this figure was attributed to trade between the member states.

Experts speaking at the meeting emphasized that in order to increase the current trade volume, it is essential to remove barriers in logistical infrastructure and digitize trade processes.

At the conclusion of the discussions, a significant cooperation agreement was signed between the analytical centers of the OTS member states. The main objective of this agreement is to further deepen regional integration and substantially increase trade volume between the member countries.
