Uzbekistan and Hungary have held negotiations on cooperation aimed at developing the field of animal husbandry. As part of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Hungary, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, arrived in Budapest. An important meeting was held in Hungary, focused on deepening cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, special attention was given to establishing a long-term partnership with Hungary’s leading livestock company, “Hunland Group.” The Uzbek side proposed several initiatives, including the establishment and commissioning of modern livestock complexes, increasing milk and meat production by enhancing the genetic potential of farms, and implementing the project in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Hungarian partners expressed strong interest in Uzbekistan’s favorable investment climate, underutilized livestock facilities, available infrastructure, and current legal regulations. At the end of the negotiations, both parties agreed to jointly develop cooperation in mutually beneficial areas and prepare the necessary technical and economic documentation.
“Hunland Group” has over 30 years of experience in implementing major international projects related to dairy and meat livestock farming. The company produces approximately 4,800 tons of meat and 62,000 tons of dairy products annually and raises more than 350,000 head of cattle. Currently, the company cooperates with European countries such as Slovakia, Romania, Greece, Serbia, and Croatia.
Cooperation in the agricultural sector will help strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries, ensure food security in Uzbekistan, develop modern livestock infrastructure, and expand the country’s export potential.
