A working meeting was held in the city of Bukhara between representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and a delegation from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in passenger and cargo transportation, as well as issues related to the establishment and modernization of bus terminals and passenger hubs in Uzbekistan, taking into account Turkey's experience.
Particular attention was paid to learning from Turkey's experience in developing modern infrastructure and implementing smart transport systems in the field of passenger transportation.
Additionally, directions for deepening the digitalization of the transport sector were considered in order to create additional conveniences for Uzbek freight carriers engaged in international cargo transportation.
Currently, permit forms for “bilateral” and “transit” transportation are being issued in electronic format through the E-permit system. The parties also agreed to complete the digital transition of permits for transport to/from third countries and to begin pilot implementation of the corresponding system in the near future.
Starting from the beginning of 2026, it is planned to fully implement the issuance of all types of permits in electronic format.
