On June 10, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov. He arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Azerbaijan’s leader, Ilham Aliyev. During the talks, the parties discussed key aspects of deepening Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations and strengthening strategic partnership and allied ties. Special attention was given to the successful implementation of joint initiatives within the framework of the Year of Economic Cooperation.
The sides noted the steady growth in trade turnover as well as the dynamic development of industrial and investment projects with the support of a joint investment company. Active cooperation continues in the cultural and humanitarian spheres as well.
They also emphasized the importance of monitoring the implementation of intergovernmental agreements and enhancing practical interaction in preparation for the upcoming high-level summit to develop new promising initiatives.
Particular importance was attached to ensuring the effectiveness of planned events, such as the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission and the forum of the regions of the two countries.
