On June 20, 2025, during his visit to Baku, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, participated in a series of events aimed at strengthening and expanding bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The main event of the visit was the 14th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Joint Commission. The session was co-chaired by Minister Laziz Kudratov and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in various areas including trade, industrial collaboration, transportation, agriculture, and food processing. Particular attention was given to Uzbekistan’s participation in the Turkic States Forum and exhibition. At the exhibition, more than fifty Uzbek companies showcased their products under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand. It was noted that bilateral trade volume had increased by 40% since the beginning of the year — a clear indicator of the strong mutual cooperation.
Both parties welcomed the implementation of joint projects in diverse sectors such as housing construction, tourism, logistics centers, and the development of cotton and dairy clusters. The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company is actively involved in this cooperation, providing financing for 15 projects exceeding a total of $360 million.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an Industrial Cooperation Program for 2025–2026 and a joint action plan to increase trade volume were approved. The sides also agreed on a schedule for reciprocal trade delegations and reached an agreement to establish trade houses and showrooms in Baku and Tashkent.
