Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabayev met with Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Aidar Abildabekov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues related to expanding cooperation. These included such sectors as electrical engineering, textile industry, mechanical engineering, infrastructure construction, pharmaceuticals, and the agro-industrial complex.

It was noted that between January and August of this year, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 15%, exceeding three billion dollars. The parties also reviewed the implementation of existing agreements and discussed the goal of increasing trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to ten billion dollars. Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
