Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee of Uzbekistan, Umed Shadiev, and Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of Kazakhstan, Nurtas Karipbayev, held a meeting. The meeting took place within the framework of the 30th International Tourism Fair, held in Tashkent.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the high level of strategic partnership and the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing regional integration in the field of tourism. The parties discussed key areas of further cooperation, including the development of joint cross-border routes along the Great Silk Road and the enhancement of the “Samarkand – Turkestan – Almaty” cultural clusters.
Special attention was given to the digitalization of the tourism sector — the introduction of modern IT solutions, analytical platforms, and marketing tools. The sides also discussed opportunities for implementing joint educational programs, improving the qualifications of guides, hotel staff, and other tourism industry specialists.
In addition, measures to increase mutual tourist flows and to promote the countries of Central Asia — including Europe — as a unified tourism macro-region in the global market were considered. At the end of the meeting, the parties stressed their readiness to strengthen practical cooperation and to advance new initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for the tourism sectors of both countries.
