In 2025, Uzbekistan’s company Uztemiryulcontainer, within the framework of implementing the President’s instructions on transforming the railway sector, successfully organized regular container transportation from Uzbekistan to European countries via Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Port.
In the instruction of the President of Uzbekistan dated December 31, 2024, No. F-70, titled “On Accelerating Transformation Processes in the Railway Sector,” key tasks were defined to establish regular block train operations from Uzbekistan to the ports of Turkmenistan, including Turkmenbashi Port.
As part of the implementation of this instruction, in 2025 Uztemiryulcontainer organized containerized cargo transportation to European countries through Turkmenbashi Port. In total, 18 block trains loaded with mineral fertilizers, potassium, urea, aluminum, and copper were dispatched.
Specifically, during the year, 380 containers were shipped from Uzbekistan’s Sergeli station, 228 containers from Nazarbek station, and 25 containers from Assake station. The cargoes were destined for Turkey, Azerbaijan, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Switzerland, and several other European countries. The launch of block train services along this route is of strategic importance for expanding Uzbekistan’s export potential, diversifying the transport and logistics system, and enhancing competitiveness within international transport corridors.
