Within the framework of the “CIET-2025” International Conference held in Avaza, a strategic announcement was made regarding the future of Turkmenistan’s energy sector. Deputy Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan, Serdar Saparov, announced the launch of a major project to build a new modern power plant on the Caspian Sea coast.
The installed capacity of this new facility, to be constructed on the Caspian coast, will amount to 1,574 megawatts (MW). This project represents one of the key directions in Turkmenistan’s strategy to modernize its energy system. The significant increase in energy capacity will ensure reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply for domestic consumers, while also expanding opportunities for electricity exports to Turkey and the Caucasus countries.
The new energy project fully aligns with the country’s policy in the field of “green energy.” The new technology allows for dual use of energy. For example, the heat from gas turbine exhaust gases will be utilized through steam turbines to generate additional electricity.
This method will help save natural gas and significantly reduce emissions of harmful substances into the environment, making production more eco-friendly and efficient. According to Serdar Saparov, the successful implementation of this project confirms Turkmenistan’s commitment to innovative technologies and its long-term strategy for sustainable development.
