The first stage of the international multimodal transport corridor “China – Osh – Savai – Sarakhs – Tehran” has started with the shipment of the first test batch of containers. This was reported by the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM).
Currently, nine containers sent from China have arrived at Kyrgyzstan’s Osh station through the Kashgar border checkpoint. The containers are now being transferred from trucks to railway platforms.
The project is jointly implemented by Turkmenistan’s Transport and Logistics Center and the company “CNTRAN INT’L LOGISTICS.” Its goal is to develop multimodal freight transport and create a stable cargo route from China through Central Asia to Iran, and further to Middle Eastern countries.
Later, the containers will continue in transit through Turkmenistan along the “China – Osh – Savai – Sarakhs – Tehran” route. This pilot project is an important step in strengthening regional transport and logistics cooperation, as well as reinforcing Turkmenistan’s role as a key transit hub on the North–South and East–West routes. Earlier, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan launched a joint test route along the “China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan” direction. This initiative aims to strengthen transport cooperation and expand international logistics connections.
