Trade and economic relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan have shown impressive growth: from 1.2 billion dollars in 2016, the volume of bilateral trade has increased to 3.5 billion dollars in 2024. This growth has been made possible by a new phase of cooperation that began after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Samarkand in November 2016.

Container trains have started operating from India to Kazakhstan, transiting through Uzbekistan. The new route was organized with the participation of “Uztemiryulcontainer,” a subsidiary of “Uzbekistan Railways,” along with “Kedentransservice” and the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TLCT). The 4,885 km journey consists of 12 standard 20-foot containers passing through four countries.
