President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Defense Minister Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov and senior military officials to discuss recent developments in the defense sector. The meeting focused on improving air defense systems, enhancing border security, and modernizing the country's air force capabilities.
Cooperation with Türkiye in the field of military medicine was also among the key agenda items. During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Türkiye in January this year, the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in military medicine.
Under the agreement, specialists will be trained in nearly ten areas, including medical treatment services, dentistry, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, the parties plan to implement joint programs aimed at retraining military doctors and improving their professional qualifications.
Other major areas of cooperation include conducting scientific research, organizing seminars and congresses, implementing joint educational programs, and promoting exchanges of students and academic staff between the two countries.
